Lodging and Logistics

Getting to Auburn

Auburn is about three hours from either Metro Detroit or Chicago.  But if you are flying, the airport in Fort Wayne Indiana is just 30 minutes away.  Best of all, the airport is very small and is a delight to fly through.  Indy is a bit over two hours away.  Detroit’s airport is just under 2 1/2 hours away but is a rather comfortable drive traffic wise as the airport’s southwest of the city and you avoid most area traffic.

If you are a railroad fan, consider taking Amtrak which stops just seven miles from Auburn in Waterloo Indiana.   Classic Bicycles Auburn will be delighted to help with logistics as much as possible if you need a ride from or to the train station.

Hotels

Auburn has many hotels and motels.  Generally, hotels on the east side of I-69 are easier to access.  If you will be riding from your hotel to the museum, it is a bad idea to stay on the west side of I-69 as the only access road is extremely busy.  If the hotels convenient to the museum fill, there are many hotels in the region.  But you will be much farther from the venue.  We strongly suggest making your room reservations as soon as possible.

The Comfort Suites Auburn is highly recommended.  Also, the Sure Stay Plus is a great older hotel with lots of vintage character (in a good way).
